Kazan has a well-developed public transport network, with buses and trams operating from 5:30h till 22:30h and the metro from 6:00h till midnight.

A train connects Kazan International Airport in 30 minutes with the central station of the city. Although this is a cheap and convenient option, the train runs usually only a couple of times a day. For more information, visit the official website of Kazan International Airport.
Shuttle bus number 197 connects the airport with metro station Prospect Pobedy. Tickets cost about € 1.
Taxis can be found outside the airport terminal, but we recommend using an app like Gett or Yandex. A single ride from the airport should cost less than € 10.
Victory Day is a big holiday in Russia, celebrated throughout the country on 9 May, with military parades and fireworks. It commemorates how the Red Army and the Soviet people defeated Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.
The 30th of August is the Day of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan. Celebrations are held mostly at the Kremlin and on the Kremlin Embankment, and also around the Family Center. Festivities include sports competitions, concerts, fairs, and folk festivals. The holiday ends with festive fireworks at night, usually around 22h.
A place to rent a bicycle in Kazan is the Sport Life store, in Kvartal. One hour rent costs about € 2, whereas a day is about € 8. In summer, there is typically also a bike rental along Kremlyovskaya embankment.
