The public transport in Saransk consists of (trolley) buses and marshrutka (mini buses), working from 5h till 23h. Average costs are about € 0.50 for a ride. There is no day pass and only cash is accepted.

Bus 29 connects Saransk Airport with the central railway station. The ride should take no more than 30 minutes.

Victory Day
On 9 May Russia celebrates its victory in the second world war in cities throughout the country, and of course also in Saransk! During Victory Day there are special events in and around the Memorial Museum of Military and Labors in 1941-1945. Victory Day concerts can be found on squares across the city. Usually the day ends with a colorful salute
Saransk City Day
Traditionally the day of the city of Saransk is celebrated on June 12, the day on which Saransk was settled back in 1641. The holiday is always rich with entertainment programs for young and old, such as sports events and fairs, various concerts, and grandiose fireworks at the end of the day.

Mordovskoe Podvorie
Mordovian Podvorie is a complex of traditional houses on the bank of the Saranka river, in the centre of Saransk. It represents a traditional peasant farmstead, where you can get a good idea of the traditional Mordovian culture. Please note that the complex is closed on Mondays and a small entrance fee is charged. There is also a restaurant with terrace that serves Mordovian cuisine. The Tourist Information Center of Saransk is located in the heart of the city, at the Millennium Square in the building of the Pushkin Library (Bogdana Khmelnitskogo Street 26, office 106). Their staff will be happy to give you the necessary information about Saransk, also in foreign languages. The working hours are from Monday till Friday from 9-18h. Zoo
On the territory of Pushkin Park there is a small zoo. It is home to about 400 species of birds and other animals, and often welcomes new inhabitants. The place includes a small farm where employees themselves grow vegetables and harvest hay for the animals. The zoo also offers guided tours, for extra inside information.
