The public transport in Saransk consists of (trolley) buses and marshrutka (mini buses), working from 5h till 23h. Average costs are about € 0.50 for a ride. There is no day pass and only cash is accepted.
Bus 29 connects Saransk Airport with the central railway station. The ride should take no more than 30 minutes.

On 9 May Russia celebrates its victory in the second world war in cities throughout the country, and of course also in Saransk! During Victory Day there are special events in and around the Memorial Museum of Military and Labors in 1941-1945. Victory Day concerts can be found on squares across the city. Traditionally the day of the city of Saransk is celebrated on June 12, the day on which Saransk was settled back in 1641. The holiday is always rich with entertainment programs for young and old, such as sports events and fairs, various concerts, and grandiose fireworks at the end of the day.
Mordovian Podvorie is a complex of traditional houses on the bank of the Saranka river, in the centre of Saransk. It represents a traditional peasant farmstead, where you can get a good idea of the traditional Mordovian culture. Please note that the complex is closed on Mondays and a small entrance fee is charged. There is also a restaurant with terrace that serves Mordovian cuisine. On the territory of Pushkin Park there is a small zoo. It is home to about 400 species of birds and other animals, and often welcomes new inhabitants.
