Public transport in Rostov-on-Don includes (trolley) buses and trams that operate from 5:30-6:00h until 22:30-23:00h. Marshrutkas (small buses) terminate their service a little later, typically around midnight.
Shuttle bus 700 connects Platov International Airport (ROV) with the Central Railway Station of Rostov. The travel time is around one hour and a single ride costs you about € 1.50. The bus runs 24/7 on intervals of around 40 minutes.
It is recommended to use only official taxis at the airport, or even better, an app like Gett, or Yandex.Taxi. An official taxi to the centre of Rostov-on-Don costs about € 20.

The 14th of February commemorates the Day of the Liberation of Rostov-on-Don from the fascist invaders in 1943. The day is celebrated at memorial places, such as Kumzhenskaya Grove, Zmievskaya Balka, the eternal flame in Frunze Park, or the obelisk on Theatre Square.
Victory Day is a big holiday in Russia, celebrated throughout the country on 9 May, with military parades and fireworks. It commemorates how the Red Army and the Soviet people defeated Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.
The Don River Festival (Ru) is a regional ethnographic festival dedicated to the opening of the summer season. It is celebrated on a Sunday in the end of June or beginning of July. The main activities take place on the Don Embankment with various competitions, tasting of Ukha, concerts and fireworks.
The day of the city of Rostov-on-Don is celebrated every year on the third Sunday of September. Various festivities, concerts and competitions are organized in parks and on streets in the city centre. At the end of the day all people gather at Theatre Square to see a spectacular show of fireworks.
Every year the Don region organizes an international literary and folklore festival devoted to the birthday of the Don writer and Nobel Prize winner in literature, Mikhail Sholokhov.
